Mission Statement
What is a mission statement? A mission statement is a written representation of an organization's vision to which all employees of that organization are committed. The mission statement provides employees as well as customers of an organization with answers to the questions:
- Why are we here?
- What do we stand for?
- Where are we going?
- What do we offer?
- Who are our customers and what can they expect from us?
In 2011, the executives together with the employees of the Bielefeld IT Service Centre (BITS) developed a mission statement based on the ICT (Information and Communication) strategy of Bielefeld University. This forms the framework for our thoughts and actions in our daily work and describes the strategic orientation of BITS.
In 2020, the vision was re-evaluated as part of the BITS 2025 project and updated accordingly.
The Bielefeld IT Service Centre (BITS) offers innovative and future-oriented IT services with comprehensive consulting and customer-oriented supervision, thus supporting the goals of Bielefeld University in research, teaching and studies.
As a solution provider, we are the technology leader at Bielefeld University and set standards in the German higher education sector.
